iOS speech to text with TextInput displays strange blue circle

I have a TextInput component that has a CHANGE listener that checks the number of characters entered. If a limit is reached the stage focus is set to null, removing the soft keyboard and an alert is displayed.

When using the speech to text tool when the limit is reached the CHANGE listener is working correctly but a blue circle appears and is persistent even if I go and delete text and re type some.

The circle only goes away when a new speech to text session is started.

Any ideas who might be the body to enquire about this to?

I assume that the loading indicator is native to iOS. It's not added by Starling or Feathers. So, it's probably an AIR issue.
